As a child he was my hero
I would have followed him everywhere
Now it's too late to act as a family
He's only the shadow of the man I loved
He turned away long ago
Because we were too much of a burden
Now he wants us back but can't he see
As time goes by everything changes
We grew up and happy memories
Faded to grey and crumbled
Smashed by hard feelings and
Not enough understanding
You want us back now but it's too late
We've grown out of hero worshipping
You'll have to prove yourself worth it
